The Riverview Gardens School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Wilson as its new family engagement specialist. In this role, Wilson is responsible for supporting the district's efforts to engage families and community members in district activities.
Her essential duties include case management, assessing the family’s strengths and needs, establishing volunteer opportunities as well as developing and implementing family programs. She is also charged with connecting families and agencies throughout the community.
"At RGSD, we are thrilled to have an individual with experience and a valuable skill set for providing outstanding service to the community,” said Deirdre Liddell, executive director of Student Support Services. “She has hit the ground running.”
Wilson is a seasoned professional. She previously worked as a library-media specialist, cheerleading coach and educational tutor in East Saint Louis School District 189.
From 2012 to 2015, Wilson served as a family and community specialist in St. Louis Public Schools, where she brought outside resources into the schools.
Wilson holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Law Enforcement from State Community College in East St. Louis, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Human Sciences in Liberal Studies from Harris-Stowe State University and a Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
