Families toured the school, met their teachers and even got to say hi to the Principal, Jarita Williams. It was such a great way to kick off the year and get everyone excited for what's ahead.

RGSD's next Together for a Stronger Future community meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Westview Middle School. The meeting will take place from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

The RGSD Board of Education recognized Marvin Crumer for Riverview Excellence at the Aug. 11 meeting. Crumer, the Parks and Recreation director for the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors, opened up the city's recreation center to Riverview Gardens High School's student-athletes after a water main break damaged the school's gym and workout facilities. Crumer and his team have also spearheaded toy drives, food drives and have provided important resources and opportunities to RGSD students. Thank you to Marvin Crumer and the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors for your continued support!

Central Middle School Is Getting Ready for a Great New School Year!
The excitement is building at Central Middle School as we get ready to welcome our students back for another great school year! During Tax-Free Weekend on August 8th and 9th, Central Middle School teachers volunteered their time to support KidSmart, their biggest school supply drive of the year. Our dedicated volunteers encouraged shoppers to pick up extra school supplies and donate items that will go directly toward helping students in need. The goal is simple: fill every supply bin and help make sure every student starts the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn. We are proud to have Central staff members helping make a difference in our community as we prepare for an exciting year ahead. The countdown is on, Jr. Rams!

Due to severe weather concerns, the Riverview Gardens School District’s Back to School Bash (originally scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6) will be rescheduled for Monday, August 10. The event will take place at Riverview Gardens High School (1218 Shepley Dr.) from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution to protect the safety of scholars, staff and parents due to the current and expected thunderstorms.

The team visited Kids World North Daycare for a morning of reading books, playing games and building relationships with the children — proving that being a leader means showing up for your community.
This visit is part of the team's ongoing commitment to service, leadership and investing in others. They believe success extends far beyond the football field.

As a reminder, the Board of Education approved a district-wide boundary realignment plan. Some students will attend a new home school for the 2026–27 school year.
✅ Register NOW — ALL students, new and returning, must be registered before school starts. Your student cannot attend until registration is complete! Register your student.

📬 Reassignment letters were mailed in April 2026 — and will be resent the first week of August. Please read them carefully!
