Glasgow Elementary student

Glasgow Elementary School has been named a finalist for the inaugural “Louie” awards, a new annual program designed to recognize high-performing public and charter schools in St. Louis City and County.

The award is sponsored by the Gateway to Success Foundation, in partnership with the PRIME Center at Saint Louis University. The awards program identifies schools that demonstrate the most significant year-over-year growth in English Language Arts (ELA) and math for students in 3rd- through 8th-grade.

Glasgow Elementary is being recognized for achieving one of the highest average growth scores in English Language Arts over the three-year period spanning from 2022 to 2025.

"The schools being recognized as Louie Finalists and Awardees are raising the bar while pointing the way for other schools to improve student performance," said Mike Dierberg, co-founder of the Gateway to Success Foundation.

As one of 20 area finalists, Glasgow Elementary will receive a $5,000 award. Ten winners will be selected from the list of finalists. Five winners will be chosen for each subject based on the strongest gains during the 2024-2025 school year.

The final "Louie" awardees will be announced Friday, Feb. 20, at the St. Louis Public Library. Schools selected as top awardees will receive a total of $15,000.
