Update Your Contact Information
From time to time the district may need to close a school or adjust a school schedule. Classes may be cancelled when conditions pose a threat to the safety of children or our staff. This includes dangerous weather, a facilities situation, an infectious disease concern or may also be caused by any emergency situation that occurs in or around our district. Every family should have a plan for picking up children from school in an emergency. If an event occurs either during school hours or at times when school is not in session, we will evaluate the situation and make a decision on whether or not to alter the normal school schedule. We will contact parents using the communication channels listed below.
• All parents will be contacted using the Riverview Gardens School District phone system • The notice will be posted on the Riverview Gardens School District website, Facebook and Twitter pages • Local media will be notified, including all television stations (Channels 2, 4 and 5) and select radio stations (KMOX-1120 AM) and print publications (St. Louis Post-Dispatch).
It is important that you have updated information on file. If you are unsure whether your contact information is current, please contact your child’s school as soon as possible.
